When the vape suddenly ceases to emit vapours, it can be a frustrating experience, particularly if the battery is charged and the pod is in place. Often the cause is simple: a power setting, a flat battery, a pod connection or condensation on the contacts. The Vaporesso XROS is available with automatic puff activation and button-based firing; when it doesn't respond, there are a number of things to check.
When troubleshooting, a logical approach is to systematically work through the possible causes one by one until your vaping problem is resolved.
Check If the Vaporesso XROS Is Turned On
One of the first things to check is whether the Vaporesso XROS has been switched off.
The XROS includes a power-off function that helps prevent accidental activation when it is being carried. If the vape doesn't respond to pressing the button or taking vapour, press the button repeatedly 5 times in quick succession.
This is a five-click on/off sequence. When powered on, attempt another draw. If no response occurs, proceed to checks of the battery and pod instead of pressing the button repeatedly.
Has the Battery been fully discharged?
Another frequent issue that can cause the Vaporesso XROS to fail to hit is a low or empty battery.
Plug the vape into its USB-C charging cable and see if the light indicator lights up. Don't use the vape if the battery is dead; wait for it to charge back up first.
The XROS can be powered via a USB-C cable. If it doesn't seem to be charging, then the cable might be the problem. Use another appropriate USB-C cable, and see if the charging indicator reacts.
If the battery level is fine, reseat the pod and test both auto-draw and button activation.
Check the Pod Connection
Once the battery is charged but XROS still does not hit, the next thing to look for is the pod connection.
The pod must make good contact with the vape and be detected by the internal system; otherwise, it will not activate properly. Take the pod and inspect the bottom of the pod for moisture or condensation.
A small amount of condensation around the connection points can cause the electrical contact to be affected. If there is moisture, carefully remove it with a clean paper towel or cotton swab.
Once cleaned, the pod is returned to the XROS securely, and an attempt is made to take another draw.
Pay Attention to the LED Blinks
When the XROS is not hitting, the LED indicator could offer valuable information. The various types of blinks may indicate various problems.
If the light flashes three times, it means that there is something wrong with the battery. Make sure the vape has sufficient charge and check the USB-C port for dust or lint that could interfere with charging.
The problem is related to the pod when the light flashes 5 times. The XROS may not be detecting the pod correctly, or the coil resistance may not be within the appropriate range.
Reading the LED beats guessing every time.
Try a Different Pod
Sometimes the issue is in the pod, not the battery section.
If the XROS has been cleaned and still cannot detect the pod, then try using another compatible pod. Place the replacement pod properly and ensure it is secure.
A pod can also stop performing properly after extended use. If its taste has changed and it doesn't produce as much vapour as before, it might be time to replace it.
When fitting a fresh pod, ensure it is filled properly, and e-liquid is given enough time to drench the coil sufficiently before taking a draw.
Check for Condensation
Over time, normal usage can cause condensation to accumulate around the pod area. Moisture that builds up under the pod can disrupt the pod-to-vape connection.
Take the pod and check under it. If condensation is found, use a paper towel or cotton swab to gently remove it. When the area is dry, you can then reinsert the pod.
Don't fill the pod too full or allow too much e-liquid to enter the centre airflow channel, as it can lead to other performance issues.
Getting Your XROS Hitting Again
If your Vaporesso isn't hitting, start with the most basic checks first. Power on, check the battery and pod, watch the LED blinking pattern and insert another pod if necessary. When the XROS isn't firing, systematically test each component to determine the cause of the problem. Hopefully, it will be something as simple as charging the battery, reseating the pod or replacing it.
